I’m Daniel Perk. I built Name Combiner Tool because I spent years writing about names professionally and kept noticing the same gap: nowhere online could you actually see every way two names could blend, only the two or three a blog post happened to think of.
Background
Before this site, I worked as a freelance writer and editor, which is where the interest in names started. Names are one of the few things every piece of writing touches, whether it’s a character, a company, or a byline, and the more I researched how names are built and where they come from, the more I wanted a tool that did the blending properly instead of guessing at it.
That research turned into Name Combiner Tool: a set of tools that generate every real blend two names allow, built for couples, parents naming a baby, businesses combining founders’ names, and fandoms building ship names. I also speak on names and naming at conferences and industry events, which keeps me in front of how people actually think about this stuff, not just how search engines rank it.
What I Actually Work On Here
I write and maintain everything on this site: the combiner tools themselves, the guides on naming traditions and the psychology of names, and the research behind pages like the banned baby names list, which gets fact-checked against current sources whenever laws change. If something on this site is wrong, that’s on me to fix, and the contact page is the fastest way to flag it.
Outside the Site
Away from the keyboard, I read, travel, and spend time with family, which is also where most of the best real-world naming stories come from.
